Heading down the highway with Doggie Couture Shop!
As summer is nearing its end, there are still plenty of vacation opportunities for the family! Wherever you choose to go, remember some of these important tips when bringing your furry friend with you! Doggie Couture Shop wants you to take him or her along - no one takes care of your pup like you!
Bring pet identification. You never know what will happen—car stops at a rest station and Fido hops out of the car and takes off! Your kids go NUTS - your freaking out! Having proper identification on your pet, whether it is on the dog collar or microchip, will better your of finding your pet in the unfortunate case that they get lost.
If you choose to bring your dog in a pet crate, make sure the pet crate is comfortable. Just like your fellow travelers, dogs appreciate space and being comfortable on long road trips. Make sure the pet crate is large enough for the dog to lie down and stand up. Don't forget giving the dog something to do during the long hours, toss in a favorite dog toy or dog blanket to make the trip a bit more relaxing.
Food and water for your pup. Just like humans - dogs can and often do get carsick during a long drive on an empty stomach; help prevent this by feeding your pup before the drive and making sure they have opportunities to potty (and clean it up!) and get refreshed at stopping points during the drive. There are perfect travel water bowls such as the Water Rover 3" Bowl.
Doggie Couture Shop has the perfect dog items for their trip- great pet identification tags, dog collars and dog leashes to keep up with them.
There is a large selection of dog crates and dog crate covers as well in the Doggie Couture Shop Auto and Pet Travel section and plenty of dog toys, dog blankets, dog treats and even potty dog items cause you WILL need 'em.
All in all, enjoy your trip! Just remember these simple tips for your next trip and the drive will be much more fun for your family and your pet!
