The leaves have changed into beautiful shades of red and yellow, the first sign that cold weather is upon us! As enjoyable as snow-filled holiday season can be, it’s important to take the necessary precautions to protect your furry friend from the harm of old man winter.
Keep Your Dogs Nearby. Few things sound more appealing than curling up in front of a fireplace, even for your pet! It’s important to keep careful watch over your dog and the time they spend outside. Smaller dogs have a higher likelihood of freezing in cold weather outside. Also, pets can lose their scent during heavy snow, causing them to get lost and not be able to find their way.
Monitor your dog's health. Be smart with your pup’s health in the winter. Don’t have your pet shaved fully and be sure to dry them off with a blow dryer after they’ve gotten wet and been outside. Be sure to wipe them down completely after coming from outside because they could ingest antifreeze or other harmful chemicals from licking their paws. It’s also important to increase their protein intake during colder months so you can keep their fur in top shape! Remember to rub some petroleum jelly on the soles of their feet to keep their paws from cracking.
Doggie Couture Shop has wonderful dog socks and dog shoes to keep their paws warm when going on their walk or when they are out "doing their business". Check out the winter dog boots too - they can be warm and be fashionable too!
All in all, just be smart with your pet during the winter months to ensure that you and your whole family can enjoy a safe and memorable holiday season!

Your skin is the largest organ you have. I neglected mine for ages. Well, that’s not entirely true, I did take care to avoid the sun like a Vampire, but otherwise, nothing special. As I got older the neglect started to show. About a decade ago I lost the luster. My skin was dull and dry. Something had to be done. I made a few changes to my routine (read: created one) and I tell you, it took 5 years off me. The glow returned. Softness was noticeable to the touch. I’m a total supporter of skin care now. Yonka
